With festival season fast approaching, there are a plethora of bands hitting the festival circuit. As normal, Hit The Deck festival is kicking off the season in brilliant style, with a huge line up of talent being showcased, but, we at Revival Media are choosing five bands from the lineup, that you HAVE to check out! So, here we go!
While She Sleeps
Yes, they’re one of the sub headliners and yes, we know they’re already awesome, so what’s new? Brainwashed. That’s what’s new. After releasing one of the best albums we’ve heard in years (COUGH COUGH HERE’S THE ALBUM REVIEW WE DID), the Sheffield lot are sure to blow your minds with a powerful, fast paced and gloriously sweaty set. Ready to get in your face, the band wont be afraid of diving into the crowd, getting you to join in with their infectious live antics and melodic chanting. No matter where you are, you’ll feel like you’re standing right in front of the band.
Leeds band, Allusondrugs are sure to bring the grunge to the festival. After a hugely successful tour supporting Enter Shikari earlier this year, the fuzz maniacs manage to blend passion, energy and a weirdly relaxing calm. This band will make you go crazy during a psychedelic set, with heavy guitars, infectious vocals and one of the most vibing rhythm sections on the scene at the moment, they’re not to be missed! Oh, and singer, Jason Moules, does look like Kurt Cobain.
If Tech Metal is your thing, you’ll know of Monuments and if it isn’t, then that’s fine, because after seeing these you will love it! After the release of ‘The Amanunensis‘ last year, the band have been on a roll, playing world wide to huge receptions. They are without a doubt of the tightest bands in the world, with more grooves than tree bark, you’ll be bouncing and dancing all through the set. If insane displays of musicianship are your thing, then you have to see Monuments.
Ashes are one of the fresh faces to the UK Metalcore scene with a promising future. After a successful tour with pals, Glamour Of The Kill, in February/March, they more than proved they could interact with the crowd and show them a good time. The Manchester band’s heavy guitars, crazy growl vocals and synth parts will throw everyone back to the first time they heard Attack! Attack! and Asking Alexandria for the first time and reignite that love with their modern take and stylistics, including guitar solos, varying vocals and excellently powerful drums. Don’t worry though, there are a few breakdowns to throw down too!
As It Is
And finally, into your Pop Punk? Ofcourse you are and you’ll no doubt know of this band already, but if you don’t, then where the hell have you been?! As It Is have been the breakthrough band for the Pop Punk scene in 2015, being the first UK band to sign to Fearless Records in 2014, to then release the hugely catchy single, Dial Tones, which since it’s release in early January has hit over 850,000 views on Youtube. Oh, and all this is without a full debut album being released (don’t worry, their debut album ‘Never Happy, Ever After’, is released on the 20th April in the UK)! These past few months, they’ve been on the road in the US with Set It Off, with hugely energetic showcases and plentiful crowd interaction expect stage dives and mic grabbing, because As It Is are sure to pack out whatever stage they play, get their early to avoid disappointment!
So that’s just five bands we think you HAVE to check out at Hit The Deck festival. Hit The Deck festival is happening in Bristol on Saturday 25th April, and in Nottingham the following day on Sunday 26th April. Head across to the HTD website for tickets!
